Yes, I'm alive

Hello, blog-o-sphere! I've taken quite the sabbatical as of late. I had just started to get back in a groove so many months ago and then chaos struck. My excuse for slacking:

SOPHIE

Only now she looks like this:

It's been a whirlwind over the last few months. On December 27 I was admitted to the hospital with a breech baby and low fluid. The next day we did an emergency C-section, and we had our sweet baby girl. She was born a little over 2 weeks early and weighed 6 lb 7oz.

Hubs and I have had by slowly adjusting to parenthood. It took us a while to feel like parents and not like we were babysitting. She's got such a sweet personality. She's happy all the time, and rarely fusses. She loves to be around people and is quite a Chatty Cathy when the mood strikes her. She can be pig-headed sometimes too though. (Like her daddy).

Six weeks after she was born, I found a job as a receptionist for a veterinary office and started working full time again for the first time in 3 years. It's so nice to be back at work. While I can appreciate women who are stay-at-home moms, I am not one of them. I was home during my whole pregnancy and by the end, I struggled with depression. I need to be out and about for my own sanity. I love my daughter dearly, and the best way for me to take care of her is to take care of me. I love my job. It feels amazing to be able to contribute to society and my family. I love coming home to my hubs and my baby girl.

So between going back to work and Sophers, I'm pretty busy all the time. Blogging was definitely put on the back burner. I hope to be able to fix that now though. Hubs is currently in Honduras on a mission trip so I have a little extra time between work and being a single mom. I took some extra time off this week to try and juggle it all. It'll be nice to get that extra time with my baby girl and maybe get this blog back off the ground. I've definitely missed writing.

For now, I'm going to grab something to munch on while Sophers sleeps. Toodles.

Our First Easter as a Family :)
